Political satire is a significant part of satire that specializes in gaining entertainment from politics; it has also been used with subversive intent where political speech and dissent are forbidden by a regime, as a method of advancing political arguments where such arguments are expressly forbidden. Historically, the public opinion in the Athenian democracy was remarkably influenced by the political satireperformed by the comic poets at the theaters.[1]
Political satire is usually distinguished from political protest or political dissent, as it does not necessarily carry an agenda nor seek to influence the political process. While occasionally it may, it more commonly aims simply to provide entertainment. By its very nature, it rarely offers a constructive view in itself; when it is used as part of protest or dissent, it tends to simply establish the error of matters.

Edwin is a veteran actor on stage having performed various roles, both comic and tragic, in Shakespearean, European and American plays since the 70's at the University of the Philippines (UP) and elsewhere. Plays he has appeared in include, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Merchant of Venice, Macbeth, Tempest, All is Well that Ends Well, Fantasticks, Eugene O'Neill's Longest Journey into Night , Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, and Diary of Anne Frank.
At present he is a UP faculty member teaching clinical psychology.

Agnes Manalo is a graduate of Bachelor in Music from the UP, took up further studies at Berklee School of Music in the United States and is currently Chairperson of the Music Department at College of St. Benilde.
She has been involved as pianist, composer, arranger, sounds supervisor at many events and is well known in the music circle for her mastery of music as an artform and of music technology.

Miguel Faustmann has played various roles under Repertory Philippines and on tv. Wherever he goes, he gets recognized by his fans who stop and wave at him.
EMMA OROZCO, Playwright and Director
Emma has been directing since her college years and started coordinating Kamalapina, the producer of the show in 1988. Kamalapina has done a lot of shows -- drama musicales, poetry reading, media fora, musical concert for Asian women dancers and another concert of children singing environmental songs. Today, she is writing books and composing songs to make an album.
